This comes amid confirmation that Andrei Rațiu has put pen to paper on fresh terms at Vallecas.

Defender Rațiu is for his part widely considered at this point to be one of the very best right-backs in Spanish football.

Safe to say, then, that all associated with Rayo Vallecano will no doubt be nothing short of ecstatic with the latest word stemming from the club’s offices.

As per a statement released across the Franjirrojos’ website and social media platforms on Friday:

‘Andrei Ratiu and Rayo Vallecano de Madrid have reached an agreement to extend the contract that binds both parties until the end of the 2029-30 season.
