Leeds United line up €25-30 million move for Gonzalo Garcia

Leeds United will reportedly look to sign 21-year-old Spanish striker Gonzalo Garcia from Real Madrid in a deal worth €25-30 million.

According to an update by Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Gonzalo Garcia is the subject of interest from Leeds United. The Whites are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a striker in the winter transfer window. So, the 21-year-old Real Madrid centre-forward has emerged as a target for the West Yorkshire outfit.

The 2024/25 EFL Championship winners are ready to win the race to sign the Spaniard by submitting a bid worth €25-30 million to Real Madrid. However, Leeds United will face stiff competition from Fulham and seven other clubs for Garcia’s signature, with the young striker seeking regular game time.

Gonzalo Garcia and his breakthrough at Real Madrid

Gonzalo Garcia is the latest promising prospect to rise in prominence at Real Madrid. While the Merengues have not produced many world-class prodigies from their academy in the last few years, they have groomed Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, and a few other players after signing them. As for Garcia, the 21-year-old recently enjoyed his breakthrough with his exploits at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

However, Garcia has been a backup player in the 2025/26 season, managing only 108 minutes of game time in nine appearances thus far. Meanwhile, the Spanish attacking prospect’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs. Leeds United and Fulham are among the prospective suitors vying for the Real Madrid prodigy’s signature heading into the winter transfer window.

Premier League move on the horizon?

Gonzalo Garcia has been on Leeds United’s radar for a long time. The continued interest makes sense, even though the West Yorkshire outfit signed Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha in the summer transfer window. With Daniel Farke seeking more productivity in the final third, the Whites are scouring the market for a striker. So, Garcia has emerged as a viable target, with Leeds United ready to submit a bid worth €25-30 million to secure his services.

As for Fulham, Raul Jimenez is on the wrong side of 30 and approaching the twilight of his career. Additionally, Rodrigo Muniz has not been productive enough through his spell with the West London club. So, Garcia is an option worth considering, with the Spaniard seeking regular game time.

Apart from Fulham and Leeds United, seven other clubs are also keen on signing Garcia. It will be interesting to see if Leeds United can beat the competition to the 21-year-old Spanish striker’s signature with a bid worth €25-30 million.
