Monaco’s Eric Dier suffers fresh injury setback
Eric Dier (31) has not featured for AS Monaco since a 2-2 draw against OGC Nice on 5th October. The former Tottenham Hotspur man suffered a hamstring injury during training and was initially expected to be out for around two weeks.
Ultimately, that absence lasted for more like a month. Dier was then included in the matchday squad to face RC Lens in the final Ligue 1 encounter before the current international break, however, he did not come off the bench during the 4-1 defeat at the Stade Louis II.
Camara and Vanderson near returns
The international break, it was thought, would be the chance for Dier to return to full fitness, however, L’Équipe now report that the defender has suffered a fresh setback. The specifics of the new injury have not been revealed, although the publication evokes a “muscular injury”.
In better news for Monaco, Denis Zakaria has been training normally, whilst Lamine Camara and Vanderson are also nearing their returns.
