Inter Milan will reportedly look to sign 25-year-old Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi in a Bosman move next summer, but they are behind Liverpool in the race to sign him.

According to an update by Italian journalist Marco Conterio, Marc Guehi is the subject of interest of Inter Milan. The Serie A giants are eager to bolster their defensive unit by signing a centre-back next summer. So, the 25-year-old Crystal Palace captain has emerged as a target for the Nerazzurri.

The latest update has revealed that Guehi is a dream target for Inter Milan. However, several other bigwigs are also keen on sealing a Bosman move in the summer transfer window, with Liverpool being “above all” in the race to sign the Englishman. Additionally, Guehi will “cost a fortune” next year.

Marc Guehi is officially in his final season with Crystal Palace after entering the final 12 months of his deal. The 25-year-old has been one of the best defenders in the Premier League since arriving at Selhurst Park from Chelsea in July 2021, making significant progress in the last four years. He has been instrumental in Crystal Palace’s recent success, guiding them to the FA Cup and the Community Shield this year.

However, Guehi will not sign a new contract with Crystal Palace, with an exit next year certain. The English international has made over 150 appearances thus far for Crystal Palace while chipping in with nine goals and seven assists. However, his contract situation has piqued the attention of several high-profile clubs, with Liverpool and Inter Milan among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.

Liverpool came close to signing the Crystal Palace captain in the summer transfer window, but the deal failed to materialise in the eleventh hour. As for Inter Milan, Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij are on the wrong side of 30 and approaching the twilight of their careers. So, the Serie A giants will “revolutionise” their defence next summer as they look to add more quality alongside Alessandro Bastoni. Guehi has thus emerged as Inter Milan’s dream target.
