Aston Villa, Manchester United vying for Christian Pulisic
Aston Villa and Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing 27-year-old USMNT international Christian Pulisic from AC Milan.
According to an update by Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Aston Villa and Manchester United are keen on Christian Pulisic. The two Premier League bigwigs are eager to reinforce their offensive units by signing a versatile attacker in one of the next two transfer windows. So, the 27-year-old AC Milan forward has emerged as a target for them.
However, while Aston Villa and Manchester United have emerged as “potential destinations” for the American winger, AC Milan will attempt to tie him to a new contract. The two parties are already in talks over an extension, and the update has dealt a minor blow to the Premier League clubs’ prospects.
How has Christian Pulisic fared at AC Milan?
Christian Pulisic has established himself as one of the best players in Serie A since joining AC Milan from Chelsea in July 2023. While 27-year-old attacker showed flashes of brilliance at the West London club, he could not make his mark beyond a certain point. However, the player has resurrected his stuttering fortunes in the last two years.
The USMNT international has been exceptional in the first few months of the 2025/26 season, amassing six goals and two assists in nine appearances in all competitions. Meanwhile, Pulisic’s progress at AC Milan has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs. Aston Villa and Manchester United are among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.
Will Pulisic return to the Premier League soon?
Christian Pulisic has been on Manchester United’s radar for a long time. The continued interest is understandable, even though Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo have been excellent since arriving in the summer transfer window. However, Manchester United have aspirations of European qualification. So, they need a deeper offensive unit, with Pulisic an option worth considering.
As for Aston Villa, the Villans are scouring the market for a versatile attacker heading into the next two transfer windows, as Unai Emery wants more firepower in the final third. With Ollie Watkins struggling to make his mark, Aston Villa must dip into the market for an offensive reinforcement.
However, a winter move for Pulisic may not be on the cards, as his representatives are in talks with AC Milan over a new contract. That leaves Aston Villa and Manchester United in a spot of bother as they attempt to sign the 27-year-old USMNT international next year.
