Manchester United set to be priced out of winter move for Adam Wharton, Carlos Baleba, Elliot Anderson
Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing at least one of Adam Wharton, Carlos Baleba, and Elliot Anderson.
Adam Wharton, Carlos Baleba, and Elliot Anderson have been linked with Manchester United for a long time, but a report from Football Insider has claimed that they are likely to cost a premium. Manchester United could be priced out of a January move for the Premier League midfield trio.
It is no secret that Manchester United need more quality and depth in the middle of the park. Signing any of the three players would improve them massively. There is no doubt that the trio are quality players, and they have proven themselves at their respective clubs.
All three players could improve Manchester United
Wharton is currently one of the best young players in the country, and he has been quite impressive for Crystal Palace and the England national team. He will add defensive cover and control in the middle of the park. The Englishman could help Manchester United improve immensely. It will be interesting to see if they can negotiate a reasonable deal with the Eagles.
Meanwhile, Baleba has done quite well for Brighton & Hove Albion despite his recent downturn in form. There is no doubt that the Cameroonian internaitonal is a tremendous talent with a bright future. He will add technical ability, flair, and drive to the side. The opportunity to play for Manchester United will be exciting for him as well.
However, the Seagulls are likely to demand a substantial amount of money. It will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds. Finally, Anderson has done quite well for Nottingham Forest. He has been linked with multiple clubs in recent weeks. It remains to be seen whether Manchester United decide to test their resolve with a lucrative proposal in January.
Signing the England international could prove to be difficult. Nottingham Forest will not want to lose a key player like him in the middle of the season. The Tricky Trees have already started the season poorly, and losing one of their best players would be a devastating blow. It could affect their chances of survival in the top flight.
There is no doubt that Wharton, Baleba, and Anderson will be attracted to the idea of playing for Manchester United. However, it will be difficult to get a deal done for a reasonable price anytime soon.
