The Italian outfit are looking to add more depth and quality in the middle of the park. It remains to be seen whether they can win the race for his signature.
The 20-year-old midfielder needs regular opportunities in order to continue his development.
Sitting on the bench at Manchester United will not benefit him. He should play more often at this stage of his career but if Manchester United cannot provide him with that opportunity, it would make sense for him to move on and join another club.
The 20-year-old is a tremendous talent with a bright future. In the right team, he could develop into a future star.
West Ham could use Mainoo
West Ham could certainly use someone with his skill set. They have struggled to control games in the middle of the park and the 20-year-old could be ideal for them. He has the physicality and technical attributes to help them improve in the midfield. He will add control and composure to the side.
The midfielder is well settled in English football and he could make an instant impact at the London club. It remains to be seen whether West Ham can convince Manchester United in the coming weeks.
With the World Cup coming up in 2026, the midfielder will be desperate for regular opportunities at the club level. He will want to cement his place in the England starting line-up. He needs to play regularly in the Premier League in order for that to happen. Joining West Ham could be ideal for him, especially if they are prepared to provide him with regular opportunities.
It will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few weeks.
Manchester United could end up regretting the decision to let the young midfielder leave in future. He has all the tools to develop into a future star.
