PSG formulating move to sign Dayot Upamecano

PSG are reportedly keen on signing 26-year-old Bayern Munich defender Dayot Upamecano next year, with other bigwigs also interested.

According to Ekrem Konur, Chelsea, Liverpool and Barcelona are interested in Dayot Upamecano as well. The 26-year-old has been an important player for the German club and there is no doubt that he would be an excellent addition for all four clubs.

PSG need more quality and depth in the defensive unit. It will be interesting to see if they can convince the player to return to his Homeland. Joining the French outfit could be an attractive proposition for him. They have recently won the league title and the UEFA Champions League. They have an ambitious project and a world-class team at their disposal. They have a top-class manager like Luis Enrique as well. The French defender could be attracted to the idea of joining them.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are in desperate need of our quality defender. They have struggled at the back and they need more depth in that area of the pitch. They have had to deal with multiple injury problems in the defensive unit this season. Signing the 26-year-old could prove to be ideal for them.

Liverpool will also need to add more quality in the defensive unit, especially when Ibrahima Konate moves on. He will be a free agent at the end of the season, and Liverpool will need to replace him properly. Signing his compatriot could prove to be a wise decision.

Barcelona keen on Upamecano

Spanish champions Barcelona are monitoring his situation as well. It will be interesting to see if they decide to come forward with an offer to sign him in January. They are one of the biggest clubs in the world and the opportunity to join them will be quite exciting for the defender.

The player has multiple options on the table right now, and it will be interesting to see what he decides. He should look to join a club where he will get regular opportunities and he will be able to fight for major trophies. All four clubs could be able to provide him with that platform. Signing a player of his quality could prove to be a coup.

He will be out of contract at the end of the season and he could be signed for a nominal fee in January.
