Roma coach Gasperini on scudetto dreams: “Lets hope the awakening is positive but in the meantime, lets enjoy the moment”

Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini claims that the Giallorossi supporters “are free to dream” about clinching league title but mentions they “should enjoy the moment in the meantime,” whilst speaking in an interview with TG1 as relayed by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Since hiring the former Atalanta coach following the departure of Claudio Ranieri in the dugout at the end of last season, the Capital club have had a brilliant start to this year’s season.

As it stands, Roma sit joint top of the league with Inter, each possessing a total of 24 points, with the Nerazzurri currently ahead due to a goal difference of 7 that separates the two Italian giants.

Despite undergoing a crisis in scoring goals up-top, the Giallorossi have demonstrated their ability to suffer when momentum is against them and their brilliant structure in defence as Gasperini’s side have only conceded five goals in the first eleven matches, the fewest of any team so far.

While speaking to the media, the Italian tactician mentioned that each player is concentrated towards maintaining the bar they have set thus far.

“The players, with their attitude and behavior, believe in it in every match,” Gasperini added. “We’re only at the beginning of the journey. When you have a beautiful dream, it’s already something good.”
