PSG to send contractual offer to Dayot Upamecano should he leave Bayern Munich as a free agent
France international centre-back Dayot Upamecano (27) will receive a contractual offer for PSG should he become a free agent upon the expiry of his Bayern Munich contract, according to RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins. The 27-year-old defender has entered the final months of the five-year deal he signed back in 2021 with Die Rekordmeister.
Upamecano is widely regarded now as one of the finest centre-backs in the world, and his appealing contractual situation has caught the eye of several European powerhouses. Real Madrid have reportedly also made contact with the former RB Leipzig centre-back.
Bayern Munich are reportedly deep in talks with Upamecano’s entourage to find an agreement over a contract renewal, but Upamecano’s stellar performances lately – against PSG for example – means he is now in a position of strength. Upamecano was asked on Tuesday about PSG’s interest in him. “Paris Saint-Germain is a massive club, with a great coach and wonderful players, but that’s not on my mind right now“, the France international said. “My focus is on Bayern Munich and France’s national team.“
