Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool scouting Wilfried Singo

Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool are the Premier League sides tracking Wilfried Singo’s performances at Galatasaray.

According to Sabah, Wilfried Singo is already attracting the interest of big clubs ahead of the January window. The attention from the Premier League is particularly rife with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool keeping close tabs on the 24-year-old defender’s displays, as Galatasaray anticipate offers.

Galatasaray managed to convince Wilfried Singo to swap Monaco for Istanbul in the summer, as the Turkish giants paid more than €30 million to sign the defender. The Ivorian has since made himself an important part of the team and is probably one of the two players garnering massive attention.

Singo has proved his credibility by occupying the right back slot as his main position but also playing centrally often for Galatasaray. His powerful displays have alerted the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United ahead of January, with those teams eager to find options that would strengthen their backline.

Starting with Arsenal, they were among those interested in Singo back in the summer, but chose different options, such as Cristhian Mosquera, in that regard. The Gunners are the least likely club to make a move for Singo, who has a €60 million release clause in his contract at Galatasaray. Mikel Arteta’s side are very much covered in the positions the Ivorian occupies, which makes any move difficult to envisage.

The same cannot be said about Manchester United, who are somewhat short at the back owing to the usage of five defenders in games. They could make do with a new player, such as the 24-year-old defender, who could take multiple positions at the back, as Singo could be a good fit for Ruben Amorim’s plans.

Liverpool are interested in Singo

Liverpool are also part of the pack keeping track of Singo, as they are in the market to solve multiple defensive positions. They did sign Jeremie Frimpong as their new right back, but the Dutch international has suffered multiple fitness issues since. Arne Slot could make do with a new player in the position, but one who could also help out centrally.

Galatasaray are already anticipating offers for the 24-year-old defender ahead of the January window, as they could potentially ask for a fee closer to his release clause. Singo, for his part, could be tempted by the prospect of joining a bigger team, particularly in the Premier League, having already proven he’s ready for a challenge of that magnitude.
