Arsenal, Chelsea told to pay €80-85 million to sign Rafael Leao

AC Milan will reportedly demand around €80-85 million to part ways with Rafael Leao next year amid his links with Arsenal, Chelsea, and other bigwigs.

According to a report by Caught Offside, Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in Rafael Leao. The two London giants are eager to bolster their offensive departments by signing a wide attacker next year. So, the 26-year-old AC Milan forward has emerged as a target for the North London clubs.

The latest update has revealed AC Milan’s asking price to part ways with the Almada native, with the Serie A giants demanding €80-85 million to part ways with him next year. Interestingly, Leao has a release clause worth €150 million in his contract with the Rossoneri.

Rafael Leao and his career so far

Rafael Leao has become a household name since joining AC Milan from LOSC Lille in August 2019. The 26-year-old did not take long to become a pivotal figure for the Rossoneri, and he has made significant progress at the Serie A club in the last half a dozen years. Meanwhile, the player has bounced back well after an underwhelming 2024/25 campaign.

Leao has chipped in with five goals and one assist in eight appearances across all competitions thus far in the 2025/26 season. Meanwhile, the Portuguese international remains a hot property in the market, with several Europe bigwigs, particularly from the Premier League, interested in him. Arsenal and Chelsea are among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.

London calling?

Chelsea’s interest in Rafael Leao is understandable. The West London club may not complete a permanent deal for Jadon Sancho, while Mykhailo Mudryk faces an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge. So, the AC Milan attacker has emerged as a viable target for Chelsea.

As for Arsenal, the Gunners are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit in the summer transfer window to reduce their over-dependence on Bukayo Saka in the final third. So, Leao is an option worth considering for the North London club. However, he is not a top target for Arsenal.

The Gunners will not launch the offensive to sign the 25-year-old Portuguese international unless they fail to land their top targets. So, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Saudi Pro League outfits may have a window of opportunity to beat Arsenal to his signature.
