Alessandro Bastoni happy at Inter Milan amid Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United links

Alessandro Bastoni is currently happy at Inter Milan as a January move looks unlikely, which could deal a blow to Premier League suitors.

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Manchester United could struggle to convince Alessandro Bastoni over a January move. The Italian international is happy with life at Inter Milan, and while the 26-year-old defender would be keen to explore a Premier League switch, a January transfer appears unlikely.

There are multiple Premier League sides eager to land a top-drawer defender ahead of the January window. Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United are all linked with Alessandro Bastoni ahead of January, but a move in the winter window appears unlikely.

Liverpool were plotting a big-money winter move for the Italian international, as they are seeking a new defender to improve their backline. The Reds came agonisingly close to signing Marc Guehi on deadline day before Crystal Palace pulled the plug on the move. There are no guarantees the Merseysiders would be the front runners for the England international, which has put them on other trails.

Nico Schlotterbeck is another name on their list as an alternative to Guehi, and Bastoni is also part of the agenda. The prospect of landing Alessandro Bastoni in January seems remote, as Inter Milan are protected by a contract until 2028. Liverpool are not alone in the mix, with Manchester City and Manchester United are also keen on the Italian international.

Manchester City are eager to land another left-sided defender in their ranks, as they could potentially feel Bastoni could replace Nathan Ake in the future. Manchester United have doubts over the long-term future of some of their current midfielders, including Lisandro Martinez, and they could view the 26-year-old defender as a viable addition to their backline.

Alessandro Bastoni is happy at Inter Milan

Bastoni is focused on his season with Inter Milan, and he is very happy with life at San Siro. The 26-year-old defender is one of the key men for the Nerazzurri, but that’s not to say the Serie A giants could not be tested with a big offer for their defensive leader.

However, a mid-season move does not appeal to Alessandro Bastoni, as he will also want to perform well for Italy at next year’s World Cup if they were to qualify. For now, Premier League teams may have to wait until the summer to devise a plan to prise the Italian international defender away from Inter Milan, as they might not get any encouragement ahead of January.
