Aston Villa run rule over Kaio Jorge
Aston Villa watched Kaio Jorge in action as they could add the Cruzeiro striker to their list of targets ahead of the January window.
According to Ekrem Konur, Kaio Jorge could be the latest name to be added to Aston Villa’s potential list of strikers ahead of the January transfer window. Scouts of the Birmingham-based club were reportedly present to watch the Cruzerio forward in action, and an approach could be on the cards.
Aston Villa are a bit short in the front line, as Unai Emery could angle a move for a new striker in January. Ollie Watkins has not been performing at his usual levels, with the striker scoring just once in 14 games across all competitions.
With Aston Villa competing on multiple fronts, they need a reliable goalscorer, either to take over from Watkins or support the England international in the best way possible. They have looked into the market for multiple options, including a host of Brazilians. The Villans have also seen links with controversial star Mason Greenwood recently.
Real Madrid’s Endrick was also on the list, but the Brazilian attacker could be on his way to Lyon, with the Ligue 1 giants angling to get the young striker prodigy on board in January. Brentford’s Igor Thiago is another name mentioned of late, but acquiring him from the West London outfit would be challenging and near impossible, especially in January.
Aston Villa have added a third Brazilian name to their list, as they reportedly scouted Cruzeiro striker Kaio Jorge. The 23-year-old had a decent spell in Europe, which was deemed as a failure, but has since found his scoring boots in a big way back in his homeland.
Kaio Jorge interests Aston Villa
West Ham were also linked with Kaio Jorge recently, but it is Aston Villa who are eager to take a closer look at the striker. Scouts from the club were present to watch the striker in action, who has 29 goal contributions for Cruzerio this season across all competitions and is certainly worth taking a look at.
Aston Villa could make the decision based on further evaluation of his style of play and how he might suit Emery’s squad. While there is no imminent decision on their move for the resurgent South American striker, an approach ahead of January is certainly possible, but he may not be their sole option in the market.
