Tottenham and Liverpool scouting Konstantinos Koulierakis

Tottenham and Liverpool are looking at Kostantinos Kouleirakis as a potential option in the near future after impressing with Wolfsburg.

According to TBR, Tottenham and Liverpool are scouting Greek centre-back Konstantinos Koulierakis ahead of a potential future move. Spurs are prioritising a new defender in the January window, while Liverpool are also on the same boat, as the Wolfsburg star could pose as a good option in that regard.

Wolfsburg have produced some notable centre-backs over the last few years, with the names of Micky van de Ven and Maxence Lacroix standing out in that regard. The Germans may have another name on their cards, with Konstantinos Koulierakis emerging as the next top talent out of the club, as some big Premier League sides are already looking at him as a potential option.

Koulierakis has been impressing with his performances for Wolfsburg, as Tottenham and Liverpool have scouted the young Greek centre-back recently. The two Premier League giants are already thinking about a January move for the 21-year-old Bundesliga sensation.

Tottenham are prioritising a central defender who operates on the left-hand side as a priority, as Thomas Frank wants to cover Van de Ven. Kevin Danso and Radu Dragusin are their current backup centre-backs, with the latter still recovering from his ACL injury, so there will be considerable doubts over his ability to contribute fully to the team’s cause.

Some names are being linked not particularly to the left-sided variety, with Inter Milan’s Yann Bisseck one of those. Tottenham could look into the idea of approaching Wolfsburg for Koulierakis ahead of January, although the 21-year-old Bundesliga sensation is unlikely to come cheap.

Liverpool are interested in the Greek defender

Liverpool are also looking at centre-back options as they did back in the summer, before only signing Giovanni Leoni, who has since suffered a season-ending injury. Meanwhile, names like Alessandro Bastoni have been linked with a move, although the prospect of signing someone like Koulierakis could be a viable option for the Merseysiders.

Koulierakis was linked earlier in the year to Liverpool, as it was unclear why they never pursued a deal for the Greek star. However, the January window could represent another opportunity to sign the 21-year-old Bundesliga sensation, although much will depend on Wolfsburg’s stance on their top performer.
