Inter, Milan, and Napoli Line Up for Verona Talent
After a few brilliant showings, Giovane found his first Serie A goal against Inter during the weekend, and multiple teams, including Milan and Napoli, are monitoring his quick growth since signing with Hellas Verona, UOL informs (via Calciomercato).
The Scaligeri tracked him for multiple years and eventually landed him on a free transfer. He was starring for Corinthians in previous campaigns. He has provided 3 assists and has had 14 successful take-ons, ranking first among Serie A forwards.
Such traits would help any side, and Inter, Milan, and Napoli are lining up for Giovane ahead of the next couple of windows. The Nerazzurri upgraded their backups last summer, but they could still use a pacey attacker.
Verona aren’t foreign to recording quick ‘plusvalenze,’ and the value of the striker has ballooned since he headed to Serie A. If he continues on his current trajectory, he could be worth €20M next summer. He inked a contract until 2029 with the Scaligeri.
Our Take on Inter, Napoli, and Milan Eyeing Giovane
He was due to scoring, as he’d been a constant threat in previous matches and really looked promising and comfortable from the get-go, despite arriving in a more challenging and defense-oriented league. The fact that the Gialloblù brought him in very early helped him a lot. As for the future, he’s bound to join a big team if he keeps going as he is. His talent is manifest, but he doesn’t project to be a big-time scorer. He could be a great dance partner next to a seasoned no.9 in a two-man attack and played as a winger in Brazil. He’ll be an easy fit on multiple outfits with those characteristics.
