West Ham United unwilling to sell Jarrod Bowen in January
West Ham United will not entertain any bids to part ways with 28-year-old English international Jarrod Bowen amid his links with Tottenham Hotspur.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Jarrod Bowen is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The Lilywhites are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a versatile attacker in the winter transfer window. So, the 28-year-old West Ham United forward has emerged as a target for the North London outfit. However, the Hammers will not entertain bids to part ways with their club captain anytime soon.
Jarrod Bowen and his time at West Ham United
Jarrod Bowen has been one of the best players in the Premier League since joining West Ham United from Hull City in a deal worth over £20 million in January 2020. The Leominster native spent his formative years in his homeland, passing through the academies at Leominster Minors and Hereford United before graduating from the youth division at Hull City.
The 28-year-old rose in prominence during his spell with Hull City before West Ham signed him nearly half a dozen years ago. Bowen did not take long to establish a foothold at the East London club, and he has been a talismanic figure for his team. The Englishman’s exploits have also helped him break into his national team.
The English international has made nearly 250 appearances thus far for West Ham, amassing 77 goals and 53 assists. Meanwhile, Bowen’s exploits for the East London club have not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs. Tottenham Hotspur will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the winter transfer window.
Move across London on the horizon?
Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Jarrod Bowen is understandable. The Lilywhites are scouring the market for a wide attacker heading into the winter transfer window. The North London giants are yet to fill Son Heung-min’s void in the offensive unit. Additionally, Brennan Johnson has not been consistent enough this season.
So, Bowen has emerged as a viable target for Tottenham, and the 2024/25 UEFA Europa League winners “have asked numerous times about Bowen and once again made it known through intermediaries they would be interested” in securing the Englishman’s services. However, West Ham will not sanction a winter sale.
While the Hammers need to raise funds for winter moves, they will not entertain any bids to part ways with Bowen in the winter transfer window. So, Tottenham must look elsewhere for a new attacker, with the 28-year-old English international not leaving West Ham anytime soon.
