Napoli ready to offer loan-to-buy deal to sign Kobbie Mainoo
Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months.
Kobbie Mainoo was heavily linked with an exit during the summer transfer window, but Manchester United managed to keep him at the club. It appears that Serie A champions Napoli are now interested in securing his signature.
The Partenopei are hoping to sign the talented midfielder on loan with an option to buy, as per a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes. They need more quality and depth in the middle of the park, and the 20-year-old should prove to be an excellent addition.
Mainoo has the technical attributes to compete at the highest level, and he could prove to be a game-changer for the Serie A champions. The Englishman will be able to work alongside quality players at Napoli, and he will get to play under Antonio Conte, who is a world-class manager.
The Italian manager could bring out the best in Mainoo. The English international has struggled for opportunities at Manchester United, and it is clear that he is not a key player for Ruben Amorim. It would be ideal for the young midfielder to move on so that he can get his career back on track with regular opportunities. Napoli will be able to provide him with the opportunity he needs.
The Partenopei are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and they will be able to help him fight for trophies. Convincing the young midfielder to join the club will not be difficult for the 2024/25 Italian champions. However, they might struggle to convince Manchester United to let the player leave.
Even though Mainoo is not a key player for them, he is an important member of the first team. Manchester United are already lacking in quality and depth in the middle of the park. They will not want to let the youngster leave the club any time soon.
Further more, letting the 20-year-old midfielder leave on loan with an option to buy does not benefit Manchester United. If the Red Devils decide to get rid of him, they will look to sell him for a premium permanently so that they can bring in a quality replacement.
