Everton rival West Ham United in Mamady Diambou chase
Everton and West Ham United are all set to battle it out for the signature of Red Bull Salzburg midfield sensation Mamady Diambou.
Mamady Diambou has been doing wonders for Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga, and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed. Multiple top clubs are keen on signing the Mali international in the near future.
According to Ekrem Konur, Everton and West Ham United are both interested in acquiring the services of the 22-year-old midfielder. Both Premier League clubs are all set to battle it out for his signature, and they are considering making a move in the winter window.
Diambou joined the Austrian outfit back in 2021. In the initial years, he had multiple loan spells away from the club before eventually establishing himself as a key figure in the team.
The 22-year-old has been one of their mainstays in recent seasons. The young midfielder’s strong physical presence, defensive attributes, and ability to play it out from the back are major reasons why Premier League clubs are after his signature.
Premier League clubs to battle for Diambou
While his contract at Salzburg runs until the summer of 2028, he is unlikely to be around for long. West Ham and Everton are set to test the Austrian club’s resolve in January with strong financial offers. Both the Hammer and the Toffees seek more quality and depth in midfield.
The Merseyside club see him as a player who can bolster their squad in the long run, while the London outfit believe Diambou could be just what they need to get things back on track. He could significantly bolster the defensive side of things and help them better control the tempo of the games.
While Salzburg wouldn’t want to lose out on him halfway through the campaign, they will struggle to hold onto him if strong financial offers come their way. Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see which clubs end up winning the race for his signature.
