Barcelona star ‘a serious doubt’ to face Elche after fresh injury setback
La Liga champions Barcelona could be forced to make do without the services of Andreas Christensen for the 2nd outing in succession next weekend.
That’s according to RAC1, who have confirmed that the Dane has picked up a fresh injury setback.
Christensen was for his part not called up on Sunday, as Barcelona made the trip to Spain’s capital for a showdown with Real Madrid.
The widespread assumption was that as much came with the former Chelsea man still suffering the after effects of a bout of illness which forced him out of training over the days prior.
This, however, was in fact not the case.
As per a report from RAC1:
‘Christensen has an injury to the sole of his right foot and that’s why he wasn’t at the Bernabéu.’
The defender is therefore also considered a serious doubt to be available for selection this coming weekend, against Elche.
