Manchester United monitoring Angelo Stiller, face Real Madrid battle
Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United are interested in acquiring the services of Real Madrid midfield target Angelo Stiller.
According to Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United are closely monitoring VfB Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller ahead of a potential move. The German international is believed to be open to a transfer next summer.
While the Red Devils are keen on his signature, they could face significant competition for his signature from Real Madrid, as reported by Ekrem Konur. There is a €40 million release clause in his current deal, but Stuttgart are looking to buy out that clause.
They can trigger a buyout for just €2 million and could then look for in excess of €50 million for the 24-year-old. With Los Blancos also monitoring the German midfielder, there could be a bidding war for him next summer.
While things didn’t work out for him at Bayern Munich, Stiller made a name for himself at Hoffenheim before joining Stuttgart in the summer of 2023. He has only gone from strength to strength since and has established himself as one of their mainstays.
European giants could battle for Stiller
The young defensive midfielder has started the new season in fine fashion with five goal contributions in his 11 outings. His exceptional performances in the holding role have put him on Manchester United and Real Madrid’s radar.
The Red Devils are looking to revamp their midfield next summer, and Stiller is quite high on their wishlist. With Casemiro likely to leave at the end of the season and Manuel Ugarte failing to make the desired impact, United can certainly push hard for the German international.
But they will face significant competition from the Spanish giants. Xabi Alonso has done a great job since taking charge at Real Madrid. However, the Spanish manager feels the need for another holding midfielder, and Stiller is one of the names on their shortlist.
They consider him an ideal fit for Alonso’s system, and he could end up being an important part of their project in the long run. Even if Stuttgart end up raising the price tag, both clubs are capable enough to meet their demands. As a result, this is certainly one to watch out for next summer.
