Predicted Line-Ups for Real Madrid-Juventus: Xabi Alonso to go full force ahead of El Clasico

Real Madrid host Juventus in their third Champions League club, with many Madridistas keeping one eye on El Clasico this weekend at the Santiago Bernabeu. The word in the Spanish capital is that Xabi Alonso is not considering much in the way of rotations for their clash with the Italian giants.

Barcelona warmed up for the Clasico with a 6-1 win over Olympiakos, and Los Blancos will be keen to put in a strong performance against a quality side, with Alonso’s tenure so far lacking in a trademark performance. Real Madrid are without Dean Huijsen, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dani Carvajal and Dani Ceballos, who they will hope to have back for the weekend.

Xabi Alonso to go with strong side against Juventus

Diario AS predict that Alonso will restore Arda Guler and Vinicius Junior to the starting XI, after the pair made the difference from the bench against Getafe, forcing a red card and assisting Kylian Mbappe’s winner. They also suggest that Fran Garcia could provide some respite for Alvaro Carreras and a crucial rest.

The only other change from their 1-0 win at the Coliseum is set to be Raul Asencio, who would replace the injured David Alaba. Marca‘s only dispute with that line-up is the presence of Carreras over Garcia.

Juventus pin hopes on attacking duo

The Bianconeri are without key defender Gleison Bremer and Arkadiusz Milik up front, but otherwise have a full team available. They will continue with three at the back, but face an uphill task. Manager Igor Tudor is under increasing pressure for his position, with La Vecchia Signora on a six-game winless run.

The front three of Kenan Yildiz, Dusan Vlahovic and Francisco Conceicao are the source of Juventus hopes. There is little debate over the side Tudor will field though, with Jonathan David, Teun Koopmeiners, Weston McKennie, Edon Zhegrova and Lois Openda all set to remain on the bench.
