Chelsea interested in Zion Suzuki, could scout him soon

Chelsea are interested in acquiring the services of Parma goalkeeping sensation Zion Suzuki, and could scout him soon.

Chelsea are constantly on the lookout for young players with massive potential, and they now seem to have their eyes set on Parma’s Zion Suzuki. According to a report from Milan News, the Blues are interested in his services and could send scouts to watch him in action against Como on the weekend.

Zion Suzuki’s sensational rise at Parma

On the back of his impressive performances for Belgian club Sint-Truiden, Suzuki was already on the wishlist of some of the biggest clubs in Europe, but he ended up joining Parma in a deal worth €8 million to ensure he gets regular game time to continue his development.

The decision has certainly worked in his favour, as Zion Suzuki has only gone from strength to strength since. He has featured in a total of 46 matches for the Serie A club and has kept a clean sheet in 11 of those outings.

The young goalkeeper has been in sensational form this season, conceding just nine goals in as many outings and keeping three clean sheets. The 23-year-old shot-stopper has been one of their standout performers, and his work hasn’t gone unnoticed.

AC Milan are one of the clubs that are keen on securing his signature as they prepare for the potential departure of Mike Maignan. They scouted him in the game against Genoa, where he made four sensational saves before stopping a penalty from Maxwel Cornet in injury time.

Chelsea to scout Suzuki this week

The Japanese international has put in similar performances on quite a few occasions, and it has attracted interest from Chelsea as well. The Blues do have Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen, but they are not yet certain about the inconsistent duo being their go-to shot-stoppers in the long run.

The West London outfit are constantly looking for players to further bolster their squad and consider Zion Suzuki an ideal fit. The Blues could send scouts to Italy to watch him in action against Como on Saturday. They really admire the Japanese goalkeeper, and since he is an ideal fit for their project, it won’t be a surprise if they end up making a move for him.

But signing him won’t be that straightforward, as there will be no shortage of competition, and on top of that, Suzuki will only leave Parma for a big club that can guarantee him a starting spot. The Italian club forked out €8 million to sign him back in 2024, and he is already worth at least triple that. As a result, Parma are certain to make a significant profit if he were to leave anytime soon.
