AC Milan eyeing Joe Gomez move, bargain price revealed
Italian giants AC Milan are keen on signing Liverpool centre-back Joe Gomez, who could be available for just €10-15 million.
AC Milan were on the verge of signing Liverpool defender Joe Gomez in the summer transfer window. But a potential move collapsed as the Reds failed to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.
Despite the failed move, the Italian giants retain interest in the Charlton graduate and could launch a move in the upcoming transfer window. According to MilanLive via SportWitness, Milan are eyeing a move for Gomez, and they could get a deal over the line for around €10-15 million.
Gomez’s time at Liverpool could end soon
After coming up the ranks at Charlton, Gomez joined the Merseyside club back in 2015. While he has never really been a guaranteed starter for the Reds, the 28-year-old has certainly been an important member of their squad.
However, that doesn’t seem to be the case under Arne Slot of late. With his contract running out in 2027, Liverpool were ready to sanction his departure in the summer. However, the Reds failed to secure a replacement in time, and Gomez ended up staying at the club.
The English international has only been involved in three matches so far and has only had 29 minutes in the Premier League. The report suggests he could end up leaving the club in the winter if Liverpool manage to secure a replacement.
Italian giants could revive their pursuit
AC Milan retain interest in his services, and they do need more quality at the back. Their sporting director, Igli Tare, is a massive admirer of the versatile defender and could play a vital role in a potential transfer.
With his contract running out in just over a year’s time, Liverpool value him at just €10-15 million, which is one of the major reasons why Milan see him as a great option to bolster their backline. His versatility could prove to be a very valuable asset for the Italian club.
