What is behind the war of words behind Cesc Fabregas and Igor Tudor?

A war of words broke out between Igor Tudor and Cesc Fàbregas following Como’s 2-0 win over Juventus, with both managers exchanging sharp comments after the match.

Tudor appeared to criticise Fàbregas’s level of control at Como when discussing the game, saying:

“Como have invested a lot, and the players were all chosen by the coach. Juventus have to win all the time — we work under different kinds of pressure.”

The Juventus boss’s remarks drew a swift and pointed response from Fàbregas, who defended his situation and took a slight dig at Tudor in the process:

“Tudor said I signed the players I wanted, but maybe he hasn’t been told how things really went. I call him ‘Mister Tudor’. He has to win every game with Juventus, we don’t — we do a different job.”

When asked about Fàbregas’s reply, Tudor responded coolly:

“Fàbregas can say whatever he wants.”

The verbal back-and-forth came after Como’s composed and tactical performance stunned Juventus, exposing the Bianconeri’s defensive issues and inconsistency.

While Fàbregas celebrated one of his biggest wins as coach, Tudor’s comments reflected growing frustration around Juventus’s uneven form. The exchange underlined the growing tension between two managers at very different stages of their Serie A journeys — one fighting for stability, the other enjoying his rise.
