For the teenager, it’s a dream come true to remain at his boyhood club, having been born in Toulouse. The Frenchman has featured in all seven of their league fixtures so far this season.
He’s been a real presence for Carles Novell Martinez’s side on the left side and a much-needed one after Gabriel Suazo (28) left in last summer’s transfer window, joining Sevilla on a three-year contract.
Methalie started the first five matches of the domestic season for Les Violets, and his strong performances got the attention of French U-21 manager Gérald Baticle. He was selected for France’s most recent Euro qualifiers at the U-21 level, with the 19-year-old netting a brace in his side’s 6-0 triumph over the Faroe Islands.
Methalie signed his first professional contract with Toulouse in 2024.
