Chelsea interested in Joaquin Panichelli
Chelsea are reportedly showing an interest in Joaquin Panichelli from Strasbourg, as the two clubs could do another deal between themselves.
According to Fichajes, Chelsea are interested in yet another Strasbourg player, with Joaquin Panichelli the latest on their radar. The Blues are constantly looking at opportunities to improve their attacking setup, with the 23-year-old South American attacker now a target for them after a stellar start to life at the high-flying Ligue 1 club.
Joaquin Panichelli is proving his worth in this Strasbourg side, who reportedly invested €16.5 million in the summer. He was bought from Alaves in the summer, which happened to be the most expensive sale in the Spanish club’s history, and is proving to be a masterclass for the high-flying Ligue 1 side.
Seven goals in eight Ligue 1 games so far have ensured Panichelli has got the required attention from some of the top clubs, most notably Chelsea. The London side were keen to sign him in the summer, but Strasbourg took charge of the situation to make a strategic investment in the striker.
Considering Chelsea and Strasbourg are part of the same BlueCo ownership, the Panichelli situation could be another deal brewing between them in the background. There will be a reasonable business deal to be conducted between those sides should a transfer move materialise for the 23-year-old South American attacker.
Chelsea did agree on a deal for Mamadou Sarr from Strasbourg last summer, and they have eyes on other stars too, including Panichelli. For the Blues, it may be easier to deal with Strasbourg to get their hands on the 23-year-old South American attacker, should they push ahead with their interest in the striker.
Chelsea eyeing strategic Joaquin Panichelli move
Panichelli could be another strategic investment for Chelsea, who could make further changes to their frontline moving forward. They could part ways with Nicolas Jackson permanently next summer, while Marc Guiu could also be on his way due to a lack of regular minutes at the moment.
Chelsea could keep refreshing their options until they get it right, but so far, Panichelli has shown enough quality to warrant a move to the Premier League giants. It remains to be seen the kind of fees the Blues would pay if they were to push ahead with the move for the 23-year-old South American attacker.
