Details: What do Juventus risk as part of UEFA’s FFP investigation?
UEFA have officially opened an investigation into Juventus over alleged violations of Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules between 2022 and 2025.
The inquiry, led by UEFA’s Club Financial Control Body (CFCB), focuses on potential irregularities in the club’s financial reporting and compliance with the Football Earnings Rule — a key element of UEFA’s new FFP framework. Juventus acknowledged the investigation in their most recent financial statement, adding that a verdict is expected by spring 2026.
According to IlBianconero, if found guilty, Juventus could face a substantial fine, restrictions on player registrations, or a salary cap for new signings in UEFA competitions. The most severe outcome could be exclusion from European tournaments, similar to their Conference League ban in 2023, which was imposed following previous accounting irregularities.
Calciomercato adds that UEFA may also impose limitations on squad size, monitoring requirements, or even a transfer spending freeze to ensure compliance. Juventus, however, insist they are meeting the Squad Cost Ratio for 2024 and are projected to remain within limits for 2025.
The Bianconeri have pledged to fully cooperate with UEFA, but the new proceedings once again place their European ambitions under scrutiny, as the club look to stabilise financially after years of off-field turbulence.
