Clinton Morrison believes Marcus Rashford has no way back at Manchester United
Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford is currently on loan at FC Barcelona, and Clinton Morrison has had his say on his future.
Marcus Rashford has done quite well for Barcelona, and he has established himself as an important player for the Blaugrana. He has impressed in La Liga as well as the UEFA Champions League with them.
There have been rumours that Barcelona could look to sign the player permanently at the end of the season. Meanwhile, former Premier League striker Clinton Morrison believes that Rashford has no future at Manchester United and that he has no way back at Old Trafford. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
“He has been outspoken. He has talked about the inconsistent environment at Manchester United, which he didn’t feel brought out the best of him,” .
“There has been a lot of change at United in terms of personnel and how they want to play. We know it has been a time for Rashford at United. It was an objective view of what has been a difficult time. He still has, after the season-long loan at Barcelona, two years on his contract.
“Barcelona have an option to buy him and from what we are being told, they won’t consider that until the end of the season. To which Clinton Morrison replied, “The club might think that but Rashford does not think that. Maybe his time is over. He still has two more years but I think he moves on. He’s a top talent and he is letting his feet do the talking.”
The England international striker will look to sort out his long-term future quickly so that he can focus on his football. Joining Barcelona permanently would be ideal for him. It is clear that Rashford does not have a future at Manchester United, and he will not want to return to Old Trafford either.
Manchester United are going through a period of uncertainty, and they have been quite poor in recent months. At Barcelona, he will be able to compete for major trophies regularly and play alongside elite players. He will certainly hope to impress sufficiently and convince Barcelona to sign him permanently at the end of the season.
It remains to be seen what the reigning La Liga champions decide. The Englishman is a versatile player who is capable of slotting into multiple roles, and he has been performing at a high level. He could prove to be the ideal utility man for them.
It would not be a surprise if Barcelona decided to make the move permanent. Meanwhile, Manchester United have invested in multiple attacking players, and it is no surprise that they are not considering Rashford as a part of their future.
