Spain are well on their way to another victory in their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign, having doubled their lead over Georgia at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero in Elche.

Luis de la Fuente further risked the ire of Barcelona and their supporters by starting Pedri, although it  paid dividends in the early stages. He delivered a wonderful pass into the path of Atletico Madrid defender Robin Le Normand, who played it across to Yeremy Pino to net the opening goal of the match.

Ferran Torres missed a penalty soon after that goal, but Spain have now got their second of the goal. Mikel Oyarzabal had cut a frustrated figure after multiple missed chances of his own, but he has now found the net in spectacular fashion from a free-kick, which was smashed home from the edge of the penalty area.
