Arsenal open to 2026 sale of Oleksandr Zinchenko

Arsenal are open to selling Oleksandr Zinchenko ahead of the January window, although his current loan deal could make the sale complicated.

According to TBR, Arsenal are willing to sell Oleksandr Zinchenko permanently in the January window. The Ukrainian full-back is on loan at Nottingham Forest, with this particular agreement likely to complicate the Gunners’ prospect of offloading him in the winter window.

Arsenal had an unprecedented transfer window in the summer, as Andrea Berta led the charge to bring in eight new first-team stars into the squad. However, there were questions asked about the club’s ability to sell players, as they did leave something to be desired in that aspect.

Key stars like Oleksandr Zinchenko were expected to leave, as Arsenal were ready to entertain bids in the window. There were a few close calls, as Marseille were in talks for the 28-year-old utility man, but a move never materialised with the French giants choosing another option.

As it looked like Zinchenko was all but ready to stay at Arsenal and finish the final year of his deal, Nottingham Forest agreed a loan deal on deadline day for the Ukrainian. While he has had a modest start to life at the City Ground, there are no guarantees the club will make the signing permanent next summer.

Arsenal, on the other hand, are ready to sell Zinchenko in the January window if they have an opportunity to do so. The loan deal with Forest does make things complicated, considering the 28-year-old utility man is into the final year of his deal at the Emirates, meaning he could be available on a Bosman move next summer.

Arsenal planning key sales

While the summer window saw the club spend unprecedented amounts of money on recruits, there’s still a need to sell well. Gabriel Jesus is someone they are keen to sell in January, and they are hoping to do that with Zinchenko as well.

The only way a sale of Zinchenko could be made possible is by Forest letting the player leave from his loan spell and then allowing Arsenal to entertain offers from elsewhere. By all means, the process seems challenging as there’s a distinct possibility the 28-year-old utility man leaves on a free transfer next summer.
