Liverpool continue talks to sign Marc Guehi, player waiting for Real Madrid move
Liverpool remain interested in signing Crystal Palace defender Marc Guéhi.
According to Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool are in talks to sign the 25-year-old target in January. Barcelona and Real Madrid are also monitoring the player, and it will be interesting to see if Liverpool can win the race for his signature. They are in desperate need of a quality central defender. The 25-year-old could be a key player for them if they manage to complete the deal.

Liverpool have been dealing with injury problems at the back, and strengthening the defence will be a top priority during the January transfer window.
The Crystal Palace defender has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool and was very close to joining them during the summer transfer window. The player reportedly completed his medical with the Premier League giants, but the deal fell through at the last moment after Crystal Palace failed to sign an adequate replacement. It remains to be seen whether they will allow him to leave in January.
Guéhi will be out of contract next summer, and Crystal Palace will not want to lose him on a free transfer. Selling him during the winter window would make sense financially, and Liverpool will hope to secure his services for a reasonable fee.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are keen on Guehi as well
Meanwhile, Barcelona are keen on the player as well. They could use more quality and depth in defence, and the 25-year-old England international possesses the technical ability to suit their style of play, being excellent on the ball and capable of building from the back.
Similarly, Real Madrid are interested too and could look to sign him on a free transfer in the summer, which would be a masterstroke. The Spanish giants are looking to build a team capable of winning major trophies again, and strengthening their defensive depth is a priority. It remains to be seen which club ultimately wins the race for the England international’s signature.
