Real Madrid uninterested in selling Arda Guler amid Arsenal, Newcastle United links

Premier League sides like Arsenal and Newcastle United are unlikely to sign Arda Guler, with Real Madrid eager to keep hold of the Turkish international.

According to Football Insider, Real Madrid are not even considering the prospect of selling Arda Guler in the near future. Arsenal and Newcastle United are likely to suffer a blow in pursuit of the attacking midfielder, as the Turkish playmaker is seen as a major star for the future.

Some of the top teams explored the possibility of signing Arda Guler during the summer, after a lack of minutes last season. The arrival of Xabi Alonso as Carlo Ancelotti’s successor did cast doubts over the Turk, and there were no guarantees that the Spaniard would use him any better than his predecessor.

Guler has shown flashes of his talent at Real Madrid since his €20 million move from Fenerbahce in 2023. However, Ancelotti did not use him in a way to make him resemble a key star in the team, something Alonso has done with good effect.

Alonso has made Arda Guler one of his key men in the side, with the €20 million playmaker even starting ahead of some notable stars in the team so far this season. After the interest from some clubs during the summer, many have been keeping tabs ahead of the next window.

Arsenal and Newcastle United have watched Guler in action, with suggestions they could have explored a move for the Turkish playmaker. However, the Spanish giants have different ideas for the Turkish international.

Real Madrid eager to keep Arda Guler

Arsenal would have made serious inroads had they gotten any encouragement in pursuit of Guler. The same could have been said about Newcastle United, although the prospect of the Magpies beating the Gunners in the race would not have materialised, given where the two clubs are in the current phase.

However, Real Madrid have no interest in selling Arda Guler at any cost currently, as they view him as a key member for the present and future. Los Blancos would also like to end speculation once and for all regarding the Turkish international, as they view his long-term future at the club rather than away from it.
