Juventus prioritising Sandro Tonali swoop
Serie A giants Juventus have reportedly prioritise signing 25-year-old Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United next year.
According to an update by Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Sandro Tonali is the subject of interest from Juventus. The Serie A giants are keen on bolstering their first-team squad by signing a midfielder next year. So, the 25-year-old Newcastle United mainstay has emerged as a priority target for the Bianconeri. However, they may need to sell players before affording a move for the former AC Milan star.
Sandro Tonali has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League since returning from his betting ban last season. The Lodi native has been with the Tyneside outfit for two years, arriving from AC Milan in a deal worth £55 million in July 2023. However, he spent several months on the sidelines after breaching anti-betting regulations.
The ban has not affected the 25-year-old, whose performances in the middle of the park for Newcastle United have been top-notch. Tonali has made over 50 appearances thus far for the Tyneside outfit while chipping in with seven goals and fiveassists.
However, Tonali’s impressive performances for his club and country may lead to a move back to Italy, as Serie A clubs are keen on securing his services. Claudio Marchisio recently suggested that Juventus should sign the Italian international. The latest update has revealed that the Serie A title hopefuls have identified the former AC Milan midfielder as a priority target for next year.
Sandro Tonali has been on Juventus’s radar for a long time. The Bianconeri will dip into the market for a versatile midfielder next year amid uncertainties surrounding Manuel Locatalli’s long-term future. Recent reports have linked the former AC Milan midfielder with several Premier League clubs, including Newcastle United.
Tonali has thus emerged as a viable target for Juventus.
