The striker has been outstanding since the move to Al-Ahli. He scored 38 goals in 54 matches for them, and he could transform Chelsea and Tottenham in the attack. The Blues have already invested in two strikers this summer, and it would be quite surprising if they decided to sign the 29-year-old England International as well. They should look to invest in the defence instead.
The striker was linked with Manchester United recently.
Spurs could use Toney
Tottenham could certainly use a quality player like him. They need more goals in the final third, and the 29-year-old could make a big difference. Thomas Frank knows all about him, having worked with the player at Brentford. The potential reunion with his former manager could be attractive for the player as well.
Tottenham have an exciting project, and they have recently won a European trophy. They will be an attractive destination for the experienced striker. He has shown his quality in the Premier League in the past, and there is no doubt that he could hit the ground running at the English club. He could score goals and help create opportunities for his teammates.
Thomas Frank has personally contacted the player regarding the move, and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can convince him. They will need to convince his club to sell him in January as well. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops. The player is at the peak of his career, and this could be the right time for him to return to England and join a big club. Tottenham will be able to provide him with the platform to fight for trophies and compete in the UEFA Champions League regularly.
The move back to England could benefit the striker as well. If he manages to impress during the second half of the season, he will have a chance of representing his country in the upcoming World Cup.
