Liverpool optimistic about agreeing new deal with Ryan Gravenberch

Liverpool are optimistic about keeping hold of Ryan Gravenberch amid Real Madrid’s interest, as talks to agree on a new deal could ramp up.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool are hopeful about agreeing a new deal with key midfielder Ryan Gravenberch. The Dutchman’s performances have attracted some of the biggest clubs, especially Real Madrid, although the Reds are eager to accelerate talks over fresh terms.

Liverpool’s summer spending saw the club acquire some notable stars like Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, among others. While the team looks solid in the present moment, there are some concerns in the background about the futures of key stars.

Real Madrid are proving to be a bit of a bother for Liverpool, as they continue to hold an interest in several of their key starters. Ibrahima Konate is already inching towards a move to the Santiago Bernabeu, with Liverpool losing hope of agreeing on a new deal. Xabi Alonso also wants Alexis Mac Allister in his midfield next summer, as the Reds could come under pressure to agree fresh terms with the Argentine midfielder.

Alonso is also an admirer of Ryan Gravenberch, and it is only natural that Real Madrid are heavily interested in the midfielder owing to his top-notch performances. While the Dutchman was underwhelming in his first season since his €40 million move from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023, he has since turned a notch up to become one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.

Gravenberch was instrumental in Liverpool’s first season under Arne Slot, and he was a big part of their title-winning campaign. Real Madrid’s interest is now set to accelerate Liverpool into finding a way to agree a new deal, as they are not expected to consider any offers for the €40 million star anytime soon.

Liverpool optimistic about Ryan Gravenberch’s stay

Liverpool are set to prioritise a new contract for Gravenberch alongside a few other key stars in their squad. However, the task will not be straightforward by any means, as the interest from Real Madrid traditionally has a lasting effect on ambitious players, and that might be the case with the €40 million star.

Ryan Gravenberch’s current deal ends in 2028, and while Liverpool are in a strong position, they do not want to get dragged into a situation where Real Madrid can disrupt their plans for the future. Hence, they are optimistic about agreeing on a new long-term deal with the Dutchman, which will effectively end speculation surrounding his future for a few years at the very least.
