Premier League heavyweights Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing 21-year-old German international Aleksandar Pavlovic from Bayern Munich.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Aleksandar Pavlovic is the subject of interest of Manchester City. The Citizens are keen on reinforcing their first-team squad by signing a dynamic midfielder next year. So, the 21-year-old Bayern Munich prospect has emerged as a target, with Pep Guardiola an admirer of his ability.

Aleksandar Pavlovic and his career so far

Aleksandar Pavlovic has established himself as one of the best young midfielders in his homeland since breaking into the first-team squad at Bayern Munich. The Munich native spent his formative years in Germany, passing through the academies at SC Olching and SC Furstenfeldbruck before graduating from the youth division at Bayern Munich.

The 21-year-old has grown in stature in the last two years, with his progress enabling him to break into his national squad. Pavlovic has made over 50 appearances thus far for Bayern Munich while chipping in with four goals and three assists.

Meanwhile, the German midfielder’s exploits have piqued the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. Premier League bigwigs, in particular, have shown interest in Pavlovic, with Manchester City keen on signing the highly-rated midfielder from Bayern Munich next year.

Manchester City’s interest in Aleksandar Pavlovic is understandable. The Citizens are scouring the market for a dynamic midfielder, as deficiencies in the middle of the park have been the Premier League club’s undoing in the last 12 months. However, Pavlovic is also a viable target for Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola an admirer of his ability. The Manchester City manager has “expressed his enthusiasm” for the player and considers him a target for the Premier League club. Additionally, with Bernardo Silva on the wrong side of 30 and approaching the twilight of his career, City can do with a long-term replacement.
