Tottenham scout Vanderson, Lamine Camara, Maghnes Akliouche in Ligue 1 game
Tottenham are keeping a close eye on AS Monaco’s trio of Vanderson, Lamine Camara, and Maghnes Akliouche ahead of a potential transfer.
Tottenham have had an impressive start to life under Thomas Frank, securing three wins in their first four league outings. Spurs thrashed West Ham United 3-0 over the weekend, with the new arrivals gradually starting to make an impact. While they have added significant quality to their ranks this summer, the North London club are already planning to strengthen Frank’s squad even further.
Spurs have their eyes set on three Ligue 1 stars, and according to a report from Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Tottenham sent scouts to watch AS Monaco face Auxerre. The officials were tasked with closely monitoring AS Monaco’s trio of Vanderson, Lamine Camara, and Maghnes Akliouche.
The North London club have prioritised signing young stars in recent years, and the AS Monaco trio certainly fit the bill. The three players are still in the initial phase of their respective careers, but they have already made a significant name for themselves. Given their potential, they could prove to be a great acquisition for Spurs.
Tottenham’s interest in AS Monaco trio
Akliouche was already a target for Thomas Frank’s team during the recently concluded transfer window. Despite signing Xavi Simons on deadline day, they were still considering signing the 23-year-old right winger.
While the North London club did have internal discussions about a potential transfer, they did not go ahead with it this summer. The French international remains on their wishlist, and they could return for him in the future following their scouting trip.
Tottenham even had Vanderson on their wishlist during the summer, as they were looking to add more depth to their full-back department. Not securing his services has left them short in this area, with Pedro Porro, Destiny Udogie and Djed Spence their only options.
While Spurs were initially considering adding another left-back, Spurs now want a right-back, as Frank views Spence as a left-sided option. The Brazilian full-back has had a sensational rise at AS Monaco, and he could certainly help their cause both in the short and the long run.
Meanwhile, the former Brentford boss is also keen to add more quality and depth in midfield, with Lamine Camara among the names on Tottenham’s wishlist. Pape Matar Sarr is well aware of Camara’s potential, and he could play a key role in persuading his compatriot to join him in North London.
While Spurs are interested in Maghnes Akliouche, Lamine Camara, and Vanderson, signing them won’t be that straightforward. AS Monaco are unlikely to let all three of them leave in the same window, and there certainly will be a lot of competition for them.
