Arsenal had wanted Bouaddi after signing Zubimendi, as they saw the likes of Thomas Partey and Jorginho depart. However, at the time, the Gunners opted to bring in the experienced Christian Norgaard from Brentford, as his experience was key to replace Partey or Jorginho.
The Gunners are back in the mix for Bouaddi ahead of future windows as they are intent on landing one of the best young midfield talents from around. They were also linked with Ajax’s Jorthy Mokio alongside other rivals, as Mikel Arteta wants a young midfielder who is extremely close to breaking through in a big way, as the 17-year-old Ligue 1 wonderkid fits the bill.
Arsenal to rival Manchester United and Liverpool
Liverpool and Manchester United were also linked with Bouaddi, with the two teams, like Arsenal, are looking at prospects who could develop in a big way. The Red Devils had been looking at a new holding midfielder variety ahead of January, but they are part of the pack tracking Bouaddi alongside their other rivals.
Liverpool had been on the hunt for a top midfield talent for at least two summers now, and could make a concerted effort for Bouaddi if the reports on him encourage an approach. Overall, the Lille star, contracted until 2027, could be on the move either in January or most probably next summer, with the Premier League his likely destination.
