AC Milan, Juventus, Napoli vying for Bernardo Silva

Italian giants, AC Milan, Juventus and Napoli are vying to sign Bernardo Silva on a free transfer when his Manchester City contract expires next summer.

According to Juve-Live, Bernardo Silva is emerging to be a big target for Italian giants AC Milan, Juventus and Napoli. The Serie A trio are angling for a Bosman move next summer when the Portuguese midfielder’s contract with Manchester City expires, making him one of the exciting signings in 2026.

The transfer window showed the disparity between the Premier League and other top five leagues, with the English clubs spending as much as the teams in the other four best divisions. Hence, it’s rather natural for some sides from Serie A to take a good look at the Bosman market ahead of next year.

While there are good opportunities that pop up in the free transfer market from time to time, last summer saw the likes of veteran Luka Modric and Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne drop into that section. The latter joined Napoli on a Bosman deal, and now the Italian champions are angling for a move for one of his former Manchester City teammates.

Bernardo Silva is coming to the end of his contract at Manchester City, which sees him earn about €10 million a year. The Premier League side are not prepared to pay as much to renew his stay, but that does not rule out an extension offer in the coming months. However, the Portuguese side have been angling for an exit for over two years now, which could see him angle for an exit from the Etihad in 2026.

Benfica are linked with their former star, but the option of returning to Portugal may not be on the cards just yet for the €10 million-a-year Manchester City star. However, a switch to Serie A could be an option worth exploring for Silva, as Napoli are joined by rivals AC Milan and Juventus in the hunt.

Serie A switch for Bernardo Silva?

Juventus were linked with a Bosman move for Silva recently, and it appears their interest is rather serious. Without having to pay a transfer fee, the Bianconeri could think about paying the experienced midfielder a good salary alongside a hefty signing-on fee. He is viewed as a solid addition for Igor Tudor’s side for the present and near future.

Meanwhile, AC Milan are also keen and eager to add Silva to their midfield, having signed Modric on a free transfer during the summer. Overall, Silva would have plenty of options from Serie A teams, while others are also expected to make their presence felt as soon as the €10 million-a-year Manchester City star signals his intentions to end his long career at the Etihad.
