Cristiano Ronaldo looking to help Saudi club sign Bruno Fernandes

Cristiano Ronaldo is looking to help Saudi Pro League club sign Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes.

According to a report from CaughtOffside, Cristiano Ronaldo is keen on bringing Bruno Fernandes to the Middle East. The Portuguese skipper is looking to help a Saudi club sign his compatriot. He even tried to lure the Manchester United captain to the region in the recently concluded transfer window.

Fernandes has been the mainstay of the Manchester-based giants since joining them from Sporting CP back in 2020. While United didn’t have the best of seasons last time out, the 31-year-old was still one of their standout performers with 19 goals and as many assists in his 57 outings.

The Portuguese international was subject to a lot of interest throughout the summer. While he remains a key figure at United, clubs from the Middle East were ready to break the bank to sign the former Sporting star.

While interest from Saudi Pro League clubs did make things interesting, Fernandes was clear that he wanted to continue at Old Trafford for now. Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad both tried to sign the 31-year-old in the last few months.

Ronaldo pushing to bring Fernandes to Saudi Arabia

Cristiano Ronaldo was the one who led the charge from Al-Nassr’s side. The Portuguese superstar had a direct contract with his fellow countrymen. While Ronaldo wanted to reunite with him, Fernandes decided to stay put.

Even manager Jorge Jesus made a few attempts to lure the United skipper to the Middle East, but it all went in vain. However, recent reports suggest that Fernandes’ situation could change in the coming months, and he may be one to watch out for starting January 2026.

While United have been reluctant to sell their skipper so far, they are aware that time is ticking to make some serious money by cashing in on the 31-year-old. Fernandes will continue to attract suitors from the Middle East; as a result, the Red Devils will have another opportunity to raise funds from his departure soon.

Given the club’s financial situation, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise if they decided to let him leave. Meanwhile, Ronaldo could try again to bring his countryman to the Middle East next year.
