AC Milan considering winter move for Gabriel Martinelli
AC Milan will reportedly look to sign 24-year-old Brazilian international Gabriel Martinelli from Arsenal in the winter transfer window.
According to a report by Caught Offside, Gabriel Martinelli is the subject of interest of AC Milan. The Serie A giants are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a versatile attacker in the winter transfer window. So, the 24-year-old Arsenal forward has been a target for the Rossoneri.
The Guarulhos native faces an uncertain future at the North London club after they were ready to cash in on him for £60 million in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, Arsenal would prefer to replace Martinelli with his compatriot Rodrygo Goes if they part ways with the South American attacker in January.
Gabriel Martinelli and his time at Arsenal so far
Gabriel Martinelli has made considerable progress since joining Arsenal from Ituano Futebol Clube in July 2019. However, the 24-year-old has been inconsistent in the last 12 months, which has cost him his place as a first-choice starter at the North London club. The player has managed only 130 minutes of game time in two outings thus far in the 2025/26 Premier League season.
Additionally, with Arsenal signing Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze in the summer transfer window, Martinelli’s long-term future is uncertain. However, the Brazilian attacker’s stock in the market is high, with AC Milan among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the winter transfer window.
Serie A adventure beckons?
Gabriel Martinelli has been on AC Milan’s radar for a long time. The continued interest makes sense, considering Rafael Leao’s long-term future is uncertain due to his constant links with high-profile clubs. Additionally, the Arsenal attacker’s versatility means he can be an alternative to any player in the final third.
While the interest is in its infancy, Arsenal’s readiness to part ways with Martinelli in the summer transfer window means a winter deal may be possible. However, the North London club’s asking price of £60 million posed problems this past summer, as suitors were not willing to pay over £40 million to secure his services.
Meanwhile, Martinelli’s long-term future at Arsenal is also uncertain, as Rodrygo Goes remains a top target after the North London outfit chased him in the summer transfer window. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the 24-year-old Brazilian international.
