Lack of European football scuppered Leeds United move for Christantus Uche, Manor Solomon, Bilal El Khannouss

Leeds United failed to sign players like Christantus Uche, Manor Solomon and Bilal El Khannouss during the summer transfer window.

According to Football Insider, Leeds were keen on improving the attacking unit by signing Christantus Uche, Manor Solomon, and Bilal El Khannouss. However, they failed to get the deal done because of the lack of European football.

Uche ended up joining Crystal Palace, who secured European football by winning the FA Cup last season. The Nigerian international is on loan from Getafe, and he will look to make his mark in English football with the Eagles.

On the other hand, Manor Solomon was on loan at Leeds United last season, and he was outstanding in the Championship. The Israeli international registered 23 goal contributions for them, and he wanted to compete at a high level this season. He has moved to La Liga club Villarreal.

Meanwhile, Bilal El Khannouss has headed to the Bundesliga, completing a season-long loan move to VfB Stuttgart. There is no doubt that all three players would have improved Leeds United this season.

Can Leeds United improve their squad in January?

It will be interesting to see if Leeds United decide to improve the attacking unit when the transfer window reopens in January. The Wihtes need more quality in this side if they want to do well in the Premier League. They will be hoping to establish themselves as Premier League regulars. Daniel Farke and his men will not want to go back down to the Championship at the end of the season.

Christantus Uche, Manor Solomon, and Bilal El Khannouss would have improved them going forward, and Leeds will be disappointed to have missed out on them. The Whites have done well to improve the squad, and it will be interesting to see if they can perform at a high level this season. However, they remain active in the market, and a Bosman move for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain may be on the cards.

Meanwhile, Leeds United’s new signings will look to make an instant impact in the Premier League. The Whites are a big club and they will want to stay in the Premier League for the long run. Daniel Farke has a quality manager and a quality team. Despite the lack of depth, they have enough options at their disposal to secure their survival in the top flight this season.
