Chelsea and Manchester City keen on Dro Fernandez
Chelsea and Manchester City are keen on exploring a move for Dro Fernandez, with Barcelona seemingly leaning towards keeping the young prospect.
According to Fichajes, Chelsea and Manchester City are ready to explore a deal for Dro Fernandez. The Barcelona prodigy has been garnering a lot of attention for his displays in the youth sides, as the Catalans are currently leaning towards keeping him for the future rather than selling him.
Dro Fernandez, the 17-year-old academy sensation from La Masia, has been creating some headlines with his performances. Barcelona are revered for their usage of academy talents, as many first-team members from the current side have come from the academy ranks.
There’s an argument to be made that Barcelona could solve their financial issues if they were to sell some of their academy talents in the current first team setup. Despite having a host of talents such as Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi, Gavi, Fermin Lopez, Marc Bernal, and Marc Casado, the Catalan side have not stopped developing talents at La Masia.
The latest name to emerge from their ranks is Dro Fernandez, who has not yet made his way into the first team, but Barcelona have high hopes for the player. As things stand, Premier League giants Manchester City and Chelsea are angling for a move to bring the 17-year-old academy sensation from Barcelona to England.
Those two teams have had a big track record in developing young stars right from the ground up, and are keen to explore a move for Dro Fernandez. The young talent will have a decision on his hands that could potentially shape up his career, as Barcelona are not keen to sell him at this stage, but he could be a subject of speculation sometime in the future.
Could Dro Fernandez move to England?
There’s a huge chance for the 17-year-old academy sensation to choose between staying at Barcelona or taking his chances with a move to Chelsea or Manchester City. The latter recently signed Burnley’s 14-year-old starlet William Stanley-James, which showcases their ambitions towards building their youth sides.
Similarly, Chelsea have improved their reputation in the youth markets and have spent heavily on recruiting promising talents for the future. They are also interested in Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez, although that may have nothing to do with the pursuit of the 17-year-old academy sensation. However, in terms of his future, Dro Fernandez may have to decide on his future, although staying at Barcelona could be the right choice.
