Newcastle United retain interest in Marc Casado after summer enquiry

Newcastle United are reportedly keen on Barcelona prospect Marc Casado after making an enquiry for him during the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Newcastle United remain keen on signing Marc Casado, and it will be interesting to see if they decide to make a move for the Barcelona whizkid in future.

Casado is a tremendous talent with a bright future, and he could be a quality long-term acquisition for Newcastle United. The Magpies are looking to build a formidable squad for the future and they need quality players. The 21-year-old would be a future asset for them if they can get the deal done.

However, Casado is highly rated at Barcelona, and manager Hansi Flick is an admirer of the player. It is unlikely that the Spanish outfit will let him move on easily after Flick blocked a summer exit. Newcastle United might have to come forward with a substantial offer in order to convince the Spanish outfit.

Newcastle United have secured Champions League qualification for this season, and they managed to win the EFL Cup last season. They will look to build a team capable of fighting for trophies every year. Casado would be a superb addition for them.

The 21-year-old has the qualities to thrive in the Premier League, and he will help them improve in the long run. Convincing the young midfielder to join the club will not be easy either. Marc Casado will not want to leave his boyhood club for a move to Newcastle United. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.

Can Newcastle United sign Casado?

Newcastle United made an enquiry for Marc Casado earlier in the summer, and he is a long-term target. However, the Tyneside outfit did not follow it up with an official proposal. It will be interesting to see if they decide to test Barcelona’s resolve with an official offer in the coming windows.

Newcastle United have done well to improve the attacking unit by signing Anthony Elanga, Nico Woltemade, and Yoane Wissa during the summer transfer window. They should look to add more quality and depth to the midfield unit now. Eddie Howe has a quality midfield at his disposal, but the Magpies need more depth to do well in all competitions.
