Official | OGC Nice’s Amidou Doumbouya joins Al-Duhail Sports Club

Amidou Doumbouya (18) has completed a move from formative club OGC Nice to Qatari club Al-Duhail Sports Club.

It has been a busy transfer window for Nice, and even with most markets now closed, there is still activity. Doumbouya has come through the academy at Nice and has made four appearances for the first team. Whilst he has found first-team opportunities limited, the defender has attracted interest from the Middle East.

He had been set to complete a deal to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli, however, despite an agreement between all parties, that deal then fell through. In came Qatar Stars League side Al-Duhail Sports Club, who have secured the signing of Doumbouya on a permanent transfer.

Whilst the fee has not been disclosed, L’Équipe believes that the deal taking the centre-back to Qatar is worth €250,000. At the time of the completion of the deal, he had just one year left on his Nice contract.
