Strasbourg have signed attacking midfielder Julio Enciso (21) from Brighton and Hove Albion FC, both clubs have announced. The 21-year-old has put pen to paper over a four-year deal with the BlueCo-owned Ligue 1 side. Enciso joined the Seagulls from Libertad in January 2023. He went on to make 57 appearances for the Premier League side, scoring five goals.

Enciso’s Strasbourg move was seemingly off due to fitness concerns regarding the player’s knee. But Brighton and the Alsatians returned to the negotiating table. “Julio is keen to play regularly, particularly in a World Cup year. We fully appreciate that, but we are not able to guarantee him regular games“, says Brighton head coach Fabian Hürzeler. “This opportunity with Strasbourg gives him the chance to play both in Ligue 1 and in Europe. We’d like to thank him for his time with us and wish him well for the future.”
