Official | Lille OSC sign free agent Chancel Mbemba
Lille OSC have announced the signing of free agent Chancel Mbemba (31). The Congolese international centre-back was a free agent since June 30, and the expiry of his Marseille contract. Mbemba was frozen out by Marseille in the previous campaign due to an open conflict with club president Pablo Longoria. Therefore, Mbemba was allowed to run his contract down. Given the reasonable doubts surrounding his match fitness, Mbemba has signed a one-year deal with Les Dogues.

Lille OSC were in the market for an experienced centre-back to bolster Bruno Genesioβs defensive options. Lille have previously parted ways with BafodΓ© DiakitΓ©, who joined AFC Bournemouth in a β¬40m move. Mbemba will wear the No. 18 jersey with Lille OSC, who have won seven points out of a possible nine since the start of the Ligue 1 season.
