Jonah Kusi-Asare closing in on joining Fulham
Fulham are closing in on the signing of Bayern Munich attacking sensation Jonah Kusi-Asare, but it’s a race against time.
According to Florian Plettenberg, Jonah Kusi-Asare could complete a deadline-day loan move to Fulham. The Cottagers are within touching distance of securing his services on loan. However, they have limited time on their hands to finalise the transfer.
Kusi-Asare came up the ranks at AIK before joining the German giants at the start of 2024. He has gone up the ranks at some pace and has been promoted to the first team for the new season.
The 18-year-old striker has already made his senior debut. While he is a part of Bayern’s squad for the 2025/26 season, the teenager is unlikely to get regular game time. As a result, the German outfit have been open to a potential transfer away from the club.
Multiple top clubs from across Europe have been after his signature. Anderlecht, PSV Eindhoven and Sporting CP have all been linked with the AIK graduate. While all three clubs have made an attempt to sign him, Fulham have leapfrogged them in the race to his signature.
The Cottagers are looking to add more firepower to their attack, and they feel the Swedish youth international could prove to be a valuable addition to their squad. They have been in talks with Bayern to secure his services on a temporary basis.
Can Fulham sign Kusi-Asare in time?
According to Plettenberg, Marco Silva’s team are on the verge of signing the 18-year-old. The deal is almost done, but with time running out, it will be interesting to see if they can finalise the paperwork. It is a straightforward loan deal without any options, and the Cottagers will be paying €4 million as a loan fee if the move goes through.
All interested clubs believe the teenager is a generational talent, and that is why they have been pushing for his signature. Bayern have complete faith in him and have him as a key part of their long-term plans. As a result, a permanent transfer was never on the cards.
While the Cottagers are set to beat the competition, finalising the time in the final minutes of the window will certainly be a challenge for them.
