Fulham eyeing late move for Hwang In-beom
Fulham will reportedly aim to sign 28-year-old South Korean midfielder Hwang In-beom from Eredivisie club Feyenoord before the summer transfer window shuts down.
According to a report by Give Me Sport, Hwang In-beom is the subject of interest from Fulham. The Cottagers are keen on reinforcing the first-team squad by signing a versatile midfielder in the final hours of the summer transfer window. So, the 28-year-old Eredivisie star has emerged as a target for the West London club.
The Cottagers are not wasting any time on deadline day of the summer transfer window, as they have submitted an enquiry over a late move to sign the Daejeon native from Feyenoord. However, it is unclear if the Eredivisie outfit will sanction Hwang’s departure in the coming hours.
Hwang In-beom has established himself as one of the most dependable performers in the Eredivisie since joining Feyenoord from Red Star Belgrade last summer. While the 28-year-old midfielder has struggled with fitness issues in the 12 months he has spent with the Dutch giants, he has been a solid presence in the middle of the park.
The South Korean international has amassed 2,500 minutes of game time across 33 appearances thus far for Fulham while chipping in with three goals and five assists. Meanwhile, Hwang’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs. Fulham will aim to secure his services before the summer transfer window shuts down.
Fulham’s interest in Hwang In-beom is understandable. The Cottagers are scouring the market for a versatile midfielder in the final hours of the summer transfer window after parting ways with Andreas Pereira, who has joined Palmeiras. So, it is hardly surprising that Marco Silva wants a new midfielder despite the impressive performances by Sander Berge and Sasa Lukic.
Several candidates, including Kobbie Mainoo, have thus emerged on Fulham’s radar, with Hwang also a viable target. The Cottagers are not wasting any time after signing only one player thus far in the summer transfer window, and they have submitted an enquiry over a late move for the Feyenoord midfielder.
However, it is unclear if the Eredivisie outfit will allow the 28-year-old South Korean midfielder to join Fulham in the final hours of the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, the Cottagers are also working on other deals, with Tyrique George on the cusp of arriving from Chelsea in a deal worth £22 million.
